Frequently asked questions
Is Capsulene a file storage platform?
No. Capsulene is a continuity layer: it seals secrets and instructions and delivers them to the people you choose if you stop checking in. You keep storing files wherever you already do.
What if Capsulene disappears — can my files still be opened?
Yes. Encrypted files are opened with the key shares, entirely offline. There is a downloadable offline decryptor, so access never depends on us still being here.
What happens if I miss a confirmation?
Nothing sudden. Missing a check-in starts a grace period with repeated reminders. Only after that window fully lapses does delivery begin — you are always given time to return.
How is my account itself protected?
Passwordless email sign-in, optional authenticator-app 2FA, single-use recovery codes, and a soft-delete grace period on account deletion so nothing is destroyed by mistake.
How does billing work?
Start free. Upgrade to a package when you need more capsules active at once. Stripe is the merchant of record — it handles cards, tax, and invoices; no card data touches us.
